After a night of very strange dreams, it is finally the day that Ben and I have been waiting for. We’ve dressed ourselves in the clothes that we’d laid out the night before, our bags are packed, weighed (5.8kg each) and ready to go and breakfast is sitting somewhat uneasily in our stomaches. I’m checking last minute details but I’m calm knowing that I’ve planned well (for at least the first 3 weeks anyway) and everything should be just peachy. It’s all now out of our hands and all we can do now is enjoy the ride! We both can’t wait. I don’t think it’s completely set in that today is the day. We’ll probably begin to realise when we reach the airport. Ben’s folks are taking us (I’ve already farewelled Mum, Dad, Storme and William) and my cousins will be meeting us at the airport.
